Thankfulness For Slavery?  12/31/08

It is the mark of manhood that the immemorial truths of human existence be recognized. Perhaps the foremost of these is the parsimony of nature, that it does not easily yield its fruit, and that scarcity, danger, and hunger is a shadow always across man’s path. The pathetic state of the negro in Africa is testimony to the hardness of life, and the pitiless requirements of the body. But Providence at times appears in the unlikeliest forms. For though it is not ventured in polite conversation, the sober mind acknowledges that the state of the negro in America is and ever was so far superior both materially and spiritually to those conditions which follow ineluctably (history shows) from his African progeniture*, that whether slave or free, his thanks should ever go to that God who brought whom he willed out of…  [Read More]  |  (1)

The Value of Power and the Arising of Excellence  12/29/08

Think we so little of nature and of those writs inscribed in men that we seek in our puritanical fervor for “fairness” to destroy every vestige of privilege, convinced it is ineluctably the product of naked power, and that relative virtue will never arise, excellence never appear absent our political midwifery? And what if power were itself a virtue, not connected by necessity to other virtues, but no less a thing of value for it arising out of human diversity? It is in the unconscious association of power with goodness or excellence of character that we err, not in ascribing benefit to power itself, power to lead, power to convey, power to attract, power to assert, power to defend, power to uphold, and every species of its good and wise application is more so for…  [Read More]  |  (2)

Positivism and the Classes of Facts  12/29/08

Lest we be compelled along the path of sheer positivistic determinism, we must declare that anthropological facts can only illuminate, give depth and context to the facts of revelation, never supplant them. Contrary to the conclusions of scientism (that most material of faiths), revelatory facts are no less facts for their being of a different class of facts. For where the probabilism of the so-called facts of science is quite great even among the species of knowledge of which it treats, that probablilism quickly becomes a chasm when application is made to the facts of value, to which the explanatory power of what is called its method (science’s) can only ever be analogical.

Dear Loyal Readers, Returning To Regular Posting  12/20/08

Some changes are coming to the site with respect to both content and cosmetics. Firstly, there will be a new format, returning to a single column for post content. Second, there will be a new index of posts listing all the posts in the archive by type (obiter dicta and essays). Third, we will be adding some categories to the posts to make topics easier to find. We will also be trimming down the links and giving the site a cleaner, neater look that focuses on the posts.

In terms of content, the biggest new is that we will be returning to regular posting. Probably a post a day, but not less than a post every other day. And lastly we will be steadily bringing online content from our various different incarnations, to eventually have…  [Read More]  |  (0)

The Pilfering of America By Plutocracy  11/09/08

The United States doesn’t really build things anymore. One of the last things it still builds, but which no one will buy, is automobiles. And for this reason the heads of America’s automakers are lining up for their share of the welfare for billionaires promised by “bailout” peddlers. Consider, less than 10% of all jobs in the US are in manufacturing, and we are importing at a record rate, with a record imbalance of trade. When the manufacturing base of the US was collapsing, as trade, tax, and import policies enshrined in NAFTA/GATT made it more feasible to dismantle US production, move it to the 3rd world and export to consumers in the US, free traders told us “No problem, we’ll make software.” And then off-shoring took huge swaths of software engineering services to the 3rd World. “No…  [Read More]  |  (0)

The National Referendum On Neoconservatism  11/05/08

Last night we witnessed a national referendum on Neoconservatism and the painful blunders of President Bush and his lackeys in Congress. “Change We Need” was the mantra, but now Obama’s got to govern. He’s now judged by what he does, not how many college girls he can make wilt with dreams of “racial reconciliation” in the back of Mos Def’s limousine.

Somehow, the media managed to get its candidate elected. Funny how that works. If that political outcome is possible, then any political outcome is possible. And this is precisely where so-called “popular government” has no answers for the perpetual dilemma of “what if your nation is largely populated by credulous buffoons and tax grifters?” Where’s the checks and balances on imbecility in the voting population?  Looks like the investments in NLP paid off, for the Obama…  [Read More]  |  (0)

What Happened and What Will Happen  10/21/08

Far from stasis, Obama in the White House, in combination with Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, will provide him with the momentum he needs to take the nation a good distance toward socialism. His plan is to increase the percentage of citizens paying no income taxes from 30% to 40%, and to place that burden, along with his unearned tax credits disguised as “middle class” tax cuts, on the top 5% of income earners, who will then lay off thousands of workers and raise prices, creating 70’s-like stagflation. The 5% will not be able to generate the tax revenue needed for his new spending plans along with the recent financial bailout(s) and the maintenance of troops abroad, and thus tax increases will be imposed on the top 10%-15% of income earners, that is people earning about…  [Read More]  |  (0)

Conversation With A Kinist Part 2  09/24/08

(Transcription of a telephone interview recorded on July 17th, 2007)

TLR: When Kinists talk about “segregation” of races, what do they mean, and is this a government function?

JHM: Kinists talk about racial segregation in a very limited and specific sense that is to be distinguished from the Jim Crow era form of segregation that was law in the Southern states. Jim Crow was, in a manner of speaking, a parochial institution (we mean by this something limited in scope or extent) that had as a central premise a kind of condescending attitude toward blacks, often the result of a paternalistic kind of tenderness and pity. This “pity” is something that academic critiques often miss. There is a common focus on the supposed widespread brutality of slavery or on the discrimination and bigotry of…  [Read More]  |  (0)

Obama’s Denver Apotheosis  08/28/08

Who said state messianism doesn’t play these days? Witness Crookstock!. The tacky self-aggrandizement is not least among the reasons why the Obama campaign is rapidly approaching the emetic -and ‘The One’s’ advisers know it, which is why the stroke of marketing ‘genius’ the stadium speech looked like a handful of months ago is now being downplayed more furiously than stock index futures. I’m all tapped out on hope, folks. Sell me something else, ok? Tell us how Obama is going to discover zero point energy, or find a cure for halitosis.

If the mind-numbing mantra of “change” is repeated often enough, it becomes like syrup of ipecac to the sound of stomach and mind -that is, those who dropped off their fringed suedes at the Goodwill bin decades ago. You see, America’s fascist leader worship is ‘copacetic’ with…  [Read More]  |  (0)

Conversation With A Kinist Part 1  08/27/08

(Transcription of a telephone interview recorded on July 17th, 2007)

TLR: Does Kinism support or in any way espouse the belief in the superiority of the white race?

JHM: Kinism believes that God has gifted all races and “ethnicities” in different ways, sometimes in ways that are complimentary, and sometimes not. Common observation has always shown this, but the science of genetics is catching up to what traditional wisdom has always known. The statistical predominance of certain races in specific categories of activity lends credence to this claim. There is also an analogous observation available to us from gender statistics. This group correlated variability in statistical levels of accomplishment is so common and so widespread as to be unexceptional. We do not find this to be the result of social discrimination in all its…  [Read More]  |  (0)

Welcome To My New Home On The Web!  08/26/08

Hi folks! Some of you who have visited in recent days might have noticed recent activity on this site, and it’s neither accidental nor transitory. Jhmarshall.net is now my new home on the web.

And who am I? I’m John Henry Marshall and I was the creator of, and chief writer at, Kinism.net, the popular advocacy site focused on Christian agrarianism, ethnonationalism, and genuine, historic conservatism. Well, I’ve placed the continuing work of that website in capable hands and am now moving on to concentrate on the identification and creation of the seminal literature of Christian agrarian ethnonationalism, or Kinism. Of note will be the collection of my entire catalog of writings from The Knave, Kinism.net, and all my other internet incarnations in one place. So that handful of you who like to read…  [Read More]  |  (0)

Fanfare For The Con Man  07/22/08

Not since the heady days of Franz Mesmer, Madame Sosostris, and ether frolics have we seen such swooning and chicken-clucking as lately surrounds the messianic campaign of Barack Obama. Hoping to cash in on Europe’s estrogen besotted sentimentality, the paper mache man Ellen Degeneres introduced as the first black President of the United States (memo to Ellen, he hasn’t yet had his coronation) took his media sycophants on a whirlwind reprise of “Ich bin ein Berliner” to the swelling cheers of multiply divorced bas bleus, trade unionists, coddled university radicals, and half-a-million permanent residents of public dope parks. If it weren’t so ominous, it might be funny. So many “dissidents,” so few rubber bullets. We’ve come to expect such pabulum regurgitation from Europe’s pampered infants, spitting as they do on 2,000 years of cultural heritage. But to see them…  [Read More]  |  (0)
